Welcome to Notes from the Tenderverse. This is a gentle reimagining of my podcast space. I’m Frances Lacuesta, and I’m so glad you’re here.

In this episode, I share why I’m choosing to begin again, and what inspired the name “Notes From The Tenderverse” — a space to explore the soft, spiraling journey of being human. Together, we’ll step into a slower, simpler rhythm of short, reflective voice-notes from my heart to yours.

This episode is an invitation to pause, breathe, and begin again.

Frances Lacuesta:

Welcome to Notes from the Tenderverse. I'm Frances Lacuesta and I'm your host. Thank you so much for listening. So this episode is about how I'm beginning again and reintroducing you to the podcast. If you have been following the old one, it's now taking into a new shape and comes with a new name. And so why the shift and why am I calling this podcast as Notes from the Tenderverse? I have been using this name on my Sub stack for about a year now, and I just love the playfulness of it. It's a play on the words tender and universe, and I joined them together and you have the tender verse. I know it's not the most original, but I just love how they blended together and it speaks so much from the core of me. So why the shift? And why the tender verse? So the inspiration of this came from the thought that each one of us holds a vastness inside and it's like a whole universe. So you have a whole universe inside you. Walt Whitman once said and wrote in his poem, Song of Myself, he said, I am large. I contain multitudes. And I feel that it's true. Because as humans, we are multicellular, multifaceted, and multidimensional beings. There's just so much unfolding within this beautiful brain and body of ours. So the tenderness is what I call that space. And that space is the inner world where thoughts, feelings, and some truths live. So this podcast really is an exploration of that space. The tenderness of being human, the questions that visit me, and the reflections I gather along the way. The image I often refer to is that of a spiral. because it's like the shape of the Milky Way galaxy. And it reminds me that life isn't a straight line. It's actually a continuous unfolding of endings and beginnings. So in a spiral, we're never exactly where we started. And even if we circle back to a familiar place, we return changed. We're not the same because we are now shaped by what we've lived, what we've learned, and what we have let go of. So this is what I hope to offer here, a gentle space for us to just pause, to reflect, and to see things with new eyes. So what to expect here moving forward? I'll be sharing mostly short voice notes from my heart to yours. Some of these I would tend to call just raw, unpolished notes. And some personal truths I have that I wanted to share. And some occasional updates from my work and... an invitation to you to take what resonates and leave the rest. So to close, I wanted to welcome you and I'm really, really grateful that you're here and that you're taking this journey with me into the tender verse. And I'm grateful to share this space with you in a new way. So I'll meet you in the next note. But in the meantime, head over to franceslacuesta.substack.com and explore more stuff from the Tenderverse. Until then, bye for now.
